"Spill."

This is a term that my first roommate, Megan, and I would often say to each other. It always sparked a conversation (or ranting session). I've received varied reactions to replying to an implied problem with, "Spill." To think about the word, it's a lot to ask, really. Spilling is chaotic and is, in every other context, a mess.
Asking such a negatively connotated task of someone really shouldn't be a good thing...should it? I think it's alright, though. Messy people are what make up God's creation. If we are honest with ourselves and each other, our messiness is bound to come out. I'm not advocating sharing every issue with everyone or turning conversations into a "I'm messier than you are" competition, but rather being open about our realization of grace. God makes all messes beautiful. Every individual wrestles with their own short comings daily and this fight should bond us together as humans in general, but more specifically, the people of God. Don't be afraid to spill. Chances are someone wants to listen.

You should have been a poetry major. I've never heard this described better.

And it makes me feel a heck of a lot better about all the times I spill on you.

LOVE YOU!
